Bass fishing is Good and most Bass are shallow and in the early stages of spawning, although some fish are still being caught on the ledges. A Zoom lizard in junebug color is always a great bait for Bass during the spawn. Most of the Bass have moved into 2-5 feet of water in the spawning bays of the upper and lower lake, look for shaded banks that have at least 1 1/2 feet of water right at the bank, shaded seawalls in the spawning bays are always a great place to find these cruising and bedding fish.

Crappie fishing is Great and good numbers of fish are being caught spider trolling Jiffy Jigs in 1/24  ounce in colors JJ12, JJ13, JJ17, JJ18 JJ20, JJ25, JJ26 and JJ35  www.jiffyjigs.com on 6 pound test line in 3-5 feet of water in the bays of the upper lake. Little River is also producing some good catches trolling the river channel with 1/16 ounce Jiffy Jigs on the edges of the main river channel.  A lot of fish are starting to be caught shooting docks with a 1/24 ounce Jiffy Jig in the Yellow Creek area and in Big Nose creek, the docks in Little River are producing also.

Striper fishing is Fair  and the Stripers are starting to move up the Coosa River for the spawning run. Fishing live Shad or cut Shad on or near the bottom in the main Coosa River from Poole's Ferry to Mayo's Lock and Dam is a great way to catch these fish as they move up river for the spawn.  Trolling a 1/8 or 1/4 ounce jig with a 3 inch grub or sassy shad on 8 or 10 pound test line in the main Coosa River from Poole's Ferry to Mayo's Lock and Dam is a great way to catch the smaller 2-6 pound schooling stripers.

Catfish are biting Great.  Catfish are being caught all over the lake. Target the marinas where all the crappie are being cleaned as the discarded waste draws in the big Blues and Flatheads. The docks at JR's Marina and Bay Springs Marina are producing some 20-50 pound Blues and a few Flatheads on Crappie heads most every night. Make sure to use a good quality fishing line, I suggest a minimum of 25 pound test line.

Your website is very good, but we thought you might like to post the attached photos for a while to upscale the "size of the fish" currently posted, there.  Bigfish 4 weighed in at 32#s.

The Stuckeys and Hamms from Mobile, Alabama, stayed at Chestnut Bay Resort May 25-Jun 1, 2007.  We had a "wonderful x great" week.  The facilities were fantastic; management was extremely friendly and helpful; we were surprised at the beauty of the place;  the fishing was tops.  This is a place about which Alabama can boast.  We are spreading the word to our families and friends and plan to visit, again.

We release the rights of these photos, should you choose to use them.  We thought the folks at Chestnut Bay would like them.
